The Plan:
Improving Government:
- Serving the students should be a volitional act.
- We will not accept pay taken from student’s pockets
- Government should be open.
- Stream meetings online
- Make all documents easily available to all students, including:
- An up-to-date budget breakdown, so you know where your money is
- A weekly progress report, to make student government accountable to you
- An interactive blog, that enables everyone to share ideas
- Create a Student Spokesman
- To ensure there is always someone there to listen
- Reach out to commuters, residents and student organizations

Improving Campus:
- Issue campus safety reports including information on the status of buildings pertaining to health and safety
- Expand Project Oasis to create a more welcoming environment
- Heat the bus stops to help students waiting for public transportation
- Improve campus walkways and walkway maintenance to decrease puddles and ice patches.
- Work to ensure cleaner campus facilities
- Establish an open dialogue on new building projects, with an emphasis placed on students’ voices and opinions.
- Address vital building maintenance which affect our safety, such as;
- Fire alarm & sprinkler system installation and upkeep
- Elevator repairs and maintenance for campus accessibility
- Asbestos in BSB
- UH disrepair
- Implement more SMART rooms to stay on the cutting edge of technology

Spending:
- Make textbooks more affordable:
- Reduce taxes on textbooks by working with legislators
- Sell packaged books individually to lessen the burden on students
- Sell books without interactive media to spare students of unnecessary costs
- Increase awareness of the University’s financial matters:
- Provide students with easy access to the University’s budget to know where their money is going
- Create an open forum to discuss University spending
- Allow students to voice their opinions before decisions are made as to how their money will be spent
- Reduce corporate presence on campus by providing more opportunities for local businesses
- Create more scholarship opportunities for students
- Increase accountability of administrators and students in charge of spending money to ensure responsible spending
- Increase communication with the Board of Trustees to improve the effective use of our money
- Implement a meal point rollover plan to benefit students who rely upon campus food services

Going Green:
- Institute a new recycling program
- Make biodegradable bags available in places like the bookstore, to decrease waste and provide a cleaner environment
- Make safer and greener products, such as safe drinking bottles, safer microwaves and better dorm amenities, available throughout the campus
- Increase the amount of new, more recognizable recycling bins
- Promote more geothermal energy on campus
- Eliminate unnecessary paper waste
- Create a new community organic garden to increase the use of open space on campus

Pride and Community
- Unify students by empowering our common bonds on campus
- Work with both residents and commuters to make sure all thoughts and concerns are addressed pertaining to our day-to-day activities around campus
- Use an executive committee to bring student groups with similar initiatives and goals together to help them in their efforts
- Create a website called SOUL net to bring students together
- Help students connect by providing an online forum to keep people up to date on activities pertaining to similar interests and tastes.
- Allow students to get to know one another and make involvement more accessible

Implement GUIDE program
- To make sure relevant academic information is easily available to students
- This will help students to take full advantage of the University by letting them know all the options available to them concerning their future studies here at UIC
- Bring UIC diversity to Chicago community at large
- Community Volunteer Program
- Create network to ensure a helping hand is available when needed by students
- Promote volunteer programs like ASB, SLDVS and STLF to increase volunteer opportunities for students who want to become involved around campus
